Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for ALL your votes!!!  I know it was tiring, and I know you were wondering if it would ever end . . . Well folks – it has!

As you may have heard by now (or assumed since you didn’t hear me screaming with joy). . . I did not win the Cheap Sally Bring Home the Bacon contest.  Believe it or not, it was won by a young woman whose last name was CASH!  🙂

I did, however, place 6th!  🙂 {yay!}  Not too shabby for a mom-of-five who doesn’t normally look for and post a ton of deals for a living (like several of the contestants).  Also – not too shabby since I was up against some people who had even been on the show Extreme Couponing!  🙂

There were over 3,000 people who signed up to compete, and after 3 months of voting, only 52 of us moved on to the 3rd round . . . the skill round.

For 21 days, our butts were numb, our fingers sore and carpal tunnel syndrome was setting in from looking for deals, hours on end, every day!  We would be given an item to find online (with specific requirements – on the item, on the coupon codes we could use, the websites we could “shop” from, etc) – and we had 24 hours to find the best deal with a coupon code!

It was grueling.

It was stressful.

I never knew couponing/deal-finding could be so taxing. 🙂

Normally it’s not . . . but when you know that you have 51 other contestants all trying to beat you in the best deal . . . it takes a long time to search the WHOLE internet (and yes – I came to “the end of the internet” several times!  🙂 )

But through it all I learned some very valuable things about finding great deals (I found some new websites I’m sure I’ll be going back to buy things from in the future) and I made some great friends with the other contestants (yes – we all actually liked and supported each other through it all!  Who else could we commiserate with that would understand?  🙂 )

Also – I just had a conference call with the owners of CheapSally.com – and they have some GREAT plans for the rest of us (who didn’t win the competition) starting in a couple months!  Many of us will be partnering with them to be a part of a new team of high quality, top bloggers and social media personalities, and will have access to some pretty awesome perks – which also means better perks for you too!  I am excited – and highly honored – to be a part of this team!  We’ll see where it leads!  🙂  Watch for more info!
