We bought an old farmhouse that was way out in the middle of nowhere. It has always been my husband’s dream to move out away from all the hustle and bustle of the city to a much calmer area to raise our children. So we found this house that was about as far away from the city as you could get and still be close enough for him to commute to work. Our children had to change school districts and had to get used to riding the big yellow limousine or school bus to school every day. I had to search for satellite internet service in my area because I didn’t want to be completely cut off from the rest of the world. We had a lot of fixing up to do on the house. The bathrooms were all outdated as was the kitchen and all the appliances. But we were able to hire contractors to come out and totally tear all the old stuff out and replace everything with new top of the line appliances, fixtures, and wall coverings. We also replaced all the flooring with replica hardwood flooring that looked absolutely fabulous after they were finished. After all the remodeling was complete, we had a housewarming party and invited all our friends from the city to come out. They couldn’t believe that we had such a beautiful house. I could tell they were somewhat jealous. Some of them even mentioned that they might start looking in the area because they were tired of city life as well.
