Who doesn’t love a good deal?!

Money Smart

I have always loved money . . . well – actually I’ve loved numbers, and counting things (yes, I counted EVERYTHING – even the pieces of Life Cereal in my bowl when I was in 4th grade!) – and naturally, that included money. 🙂  I’ve always been a saver, frugal, and when I was in elementary school – I used to beg my Grandmom to let me count her money when she came to visit.  (She always had larger bills in her purse that we didn’t usually see in our mom’s purse!).

When I left home and got married, my mom gave me a book and workbook by Larry Burkett (the Dave Ramsey of the past) and I ate up and practiced all the taught me!  Ever since then, I’m always looking for new information about how to better handle my money, invest it and more.

I have given talks at my MOPS group about the importance of us ladies being informed about money matters.  Many of us might handle our family’s finances, but many don’t.  Even if you do not handle the finances for your family, that doesn’t mean you should not know, understand or be involved in handling money.  Whether it’s learning how to be more frugal in your shopping, helping to save money for a family vacation, or learning how to budget (and live within that budget) and more – we do need to be better informed about how to handle our money well.
