A New Day: How to let go of the guilt of yesterday.

Do you feel like you just never get everything done each day?

Do you long for more hours on the day?

Ever wish you had done things differently, or had known then what you know now?

Do you live with regrets and guilt of the “should’ve, could’ve, would’ve” kind?

I saw this quote today – and just had to share!

“Finish each day and be done with it…You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you should begin it well and serenely.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson

I love it!  “Finish each day and BE DONE WITH IT!”  🙂

Today (& Tomorrow) is a NEW Day!

Yesterday is over . . . and today is a NEW DAY!  Why not start fresh and anew . . . in any and all areas that you need to.

What areas are you ready to be “done with” from yesterday?

What things are you holding onto (regrets, guilt, etc) that you can choose to let go of today?

When thinking about my past (how I wish I had done some things differently in raising my oldest kids, how I wish I had used my time more effectively, etc) I try to remember what someone once told me –  “You did the best with what you had and knew at the time.”

I can’t go back and change anything. (Did you hear me?  YOU can’t go back and change anything either!  So stop wishing you could!)  There were things I just didn’t know when I was younger, and I can’t beat myself up now because I didn’t know them then.  That’s just silly!  🙂

BUT . . . I can change how I do things from here on out!  Because . . .

Today is a NEW Day!

Finish each day and be done with it…You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you should begin it well and serenely.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson

What plans do you have for today/tomorrow?  How can you “begin it well and serenely”?

If you didn’t start today well and serenely . . . what can you do different tomorrow?
