Well . . . today was the day . . . 
The day many have been looking forward to (and others, probably dreading!) . . .
For me . . . it involved – Five kids off to five different schools at 4 different times and transportation routes! 🙂 Yikes!
And it only took 2 1/2 hours to get them up, ready, out the door with a kiss, (hug for the older ones) and a prayer, and then on the bus (or in the car)! Yes – only 2 1/2 hours . . . whew! It might take me a week to get the feel for when I can squeeze in my workout, breakfast and shower in or around that time-frame (without having to wake up at the ungodly hour of 4am!).
So . . . off they went – and not a tear was shed (by me or by them), though I think there were a few first-day jitters . . . yes – even me – mainly with my daughter entering middle school. It’s a big transition – going from 2 classrooms to 7 . . . plus having to learn the whole A/B schedule concept (I don’t even have that down and my 2nd son has been doing it for 2 years! I always had to ask him whether it was an A day or a B day). I’m praying she remembered to look at her bus number, as she didn’t seem to be paying attention when I told it to her at the bus stop (her good friend had just showed up as the bus was arriving)! If she doesn’t make it home – at least her school is not far away. 🙂 I think the rest will remember theirs . . . but we’ll see (we had all new bus numbers this year!).
What did I do today? 🙂
Now – I know you are all wondering . . . just what did you do with all that free time you had after the kids left? 🙂
Honestly – it doesn’t feel like I’ve accomplished much so far. I did go for a run, then accidentally sabotaged the rest of my workout when I went online to “check something quickly” (never a good idea!)! That turned into 3 hours of trying to figure out a couple problems on this website! 🙁 ugh. I did fix one – but the other . . . . not yet (it’s the search box in the sidebar. It keeps taking me to a blank white page. 🙁 It used to work. Sorry if you’ve tried using it and it didn’t work. The google search works – but not sure if it will list the links to my site or not. You’ll have to let me know.).
After a shower finally at 1pm, and now eating lunch and watching my cat and bunny chase each other around the house (too cute!) – I’m finally sitting down to chat with you!
How did your 1st day of school go?
I know for some of you it isn’t the 1st day (my oldest started a week and a half ago). But for the majority of you . . . whether you are homeschooling or your kids are in public or private school . . . .
